New Ride!

Jude usually sleeps in his carseat while I run errands but he was wide awake today so I decided to see how he did sitting in the cart. He absolutley loved it! I am not a big fan of letting small children ride in the back of the cart, but since we were only getting a few things I allowed Eli to. I knew he would do better sitting in the cart then walking on the ground. He did great too! I told him he had to stay on his bottom or he wouldn't be able to sit in the cart like a big boy and he listened!

Easter Bunny

I have been talking to Eli about the Easter Bunny for a few weeks now. I brought out the picture from last year and asked him if he wanted to go see the Easter Bunny. He has been very excited about getting to see the Easter Bunny. Even saying he wanted to sit on the Easter Bunny's lap. We got up this morning and told Eli we were going to go see the Easter Bunny. He was so so so excited! We went to our local mall (where we saw Santa) and to my complete shock the Easter Bunny wasn't there. I just assumed all big malls had an Easter Bunny. I was so disappointed and knew that Eli would be too. Mike used his phone and looked up Easter Bunny in Iowa City and LUCKILY a Hyvee grocery store was doing pictures with Easter Bunny only today, and it was FREE!!! Eli was so excited when he saw the Easter Bunny. He sat on his lap and then sat next to him while Jude sat on his lap. He then gave the Easter Bunny a hug before he got down! It was so swwet. It took us about 1 1/2 hours extra to drive around and find the grocery store, but it was so worth it to see how excited Eli was!!

We Love You Jackie

My twin sister Jackie had surgery today to repair a torn ACL in her right knee. My mom is staying with her for a few days until she can get around on her own, but she will have weeks of recovery until she can fully use her leg and get back to teaching. We love and miss you Jackie and hope your recovery goes smoothly!!!!

Weekend Surprise!!!

We didn't really have any big plans for this weekend, just a bunch of basketball games and church on Sunday. Friday night at 10:00 I got a text message from my sister Jackie. It said: "If someone leaves Indiana at 6:00 what time will they arrive in Iowa.......Right now so let me in I am cold!!!!" I was completely shocked and excited to see her and my mom!!!!! It was such a great surprise! We got to spend all day Saturday together before they had to head back home early Sunday morning. Eli was so excited to see them when he woke up on Saturday and my mom made the day so special for him. She brought Easter stuff for both of the boys and Eli got to go for an Easter egg hunt. It had to be in our livingroom because we got 3 inches of snow Friday night, but Eli didn't mind. It makes me so happy to see Eli light up around our family. He is constantly talking about his grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins. We are so blessed to have such a wonderful family.

Eli was excited about the candy, Jude was excited about the eggs!
Jude got to sit in a high chair while we were out to eat for the first time, we don't eat out too often
My mom brought Eli a fun costume to dress up in. She made this for one of my nephews to where for Halloween a few years ago. It took a few minutes for Eli to warm up to the idea of wearing it, but once he got it on he was so excited! He absolutely loves Toy Story right now.

Unfortunately the weekend ended on a sour note. On the way home from church on Sunday Eli threw up all over himself. He had a fever throughout the day but went to bed ok only to wake up screaming at 12:30 AM. Jude was also awake so I got both bpys up and they both felt warm. I took Jude's temperature and he had a fever so I gave him tylenol. I then moved on to take Eli's temperature and Jude threw up all over himself. So Jude slept in the swing and Eli and I cuddled on the couch. They are both still batteling fevers today. Hopefully tomorrow they will both be better.

Just Like Papa!

Eli has always been very fond of his Papa's piano. It is his absolute favorite thing to do when we are at Mike's parents house. For Christmas Eli got a big keyboard from his Papaw (my dad) and it is still one of his favorite things to play with. I can already see that Jude is also going to enjoy playing the piano. I look forward to the day when both boys can learn to play the piano from their Papa!

I love that Jude is watching Eli play the piano:-)

Jude's first tooth has finally broke through!!! Yay for baby Jude! I have definately noticed that he has been a little cranky the past few days. There are certain toys that hurt his gums. I tried a teething ring but he didn't really care for it. The only thing that has been helping him is frozen peach slices in his mesh fruit feeder. He loves it now and I think the coldness has really helped his sore gums. I have been letting him have it a few times a day. It works out very nicely while I am making dinner or while we are eating dinner! Since Jude got his first tooth today he got to wear a special shirt. It was a hand me down from one of my sisters, so one of my nephews probably wore it but I am not sure which one (sorry Katie and Tracy). I think this shirt is absolutely adorable. I was hoping that Jude would fit into it when he got his first tooth and it fits him perfectly!

Happy 7 Months Jude Michael!

Baby Jude is 7 months old today!!! I don't know why but that just seems so old to me. 6 months is a big milestone, but 7 months means they are closer to being 1 than they are to being a newborn. I also think he has really changed in the last month. He is gaining weight and changing physically but he is also moving around a lot more by rolling and has gotten so much better at sitting up. I also think he is getting his first tooth, but I thought that last month too and was wrong I guess. Nothing is through the gum yet but I can definately feel one under the gums. (I will feel very silly if I don't see a tooth in the next few days!) Jude is also starting to grow some hair finally!!! I love it! When the sun hits it it is super blonde!!! He is such a cutie pie!

Spring is Here!

The weather is finally improving! After 3 long months of winter the snow is FINALLY gone! The temperature has been rising and we have had a few days of rain and that was enough to get rid of all the snow that we have had on the ground since December 9th! I have been itching to get outside with the boys and today we were finally able to! After Jude's morning nap I got the boys ready and we went for a walk around the neighborhood. Jude got to ride in the stroller without his carseat for the first time and he really seemed to like it. He just looked around taking it all in. Eli was a little disappointed because we only saw 1 dog but he was so happy to finally get outside. I hope the weather stays nice so we are able to get out more this weekend.
We love to be outside
Enjoying the ride!

Exersaucer Fun!!

Today I brought out the exersaucer for Jude. I have been wanting to get it out for the past month, but we have been trying to figure out where to put it. We don't have a lot of room for it. I finally decided to just bring it in or we never would. Right now it is sitting in the middle of our livingroom. :-) Jude had a blast in it!!! At first I put a blanket around him but I soon realized he didn't need it. Once I took the blanket away he could reach the toys much better! Of course Eli wanted to try it out too. I told him he was too big for it so he found another way to play with it. :-) These boys truly make me happy! And of course I took some pictures!!!
Jude loved it right away!
Of course he had to put the toys in his mouth
He wasn't to sure about this cat
Isn't he just adorable!!
He had a blast!

Pictures, Picutres, and more Pictures!!!

I have so many pictures that I love of these boys that I don't always post about so here are a few of my favorites! I just have so much fun with my baby boys!
Jude is doing great taking a bottle each night. He gets so excited when he sees it and he likes to hold it himself. Bottles are a new experience for me.
Eli now likes to drink from his "bottle" too, he had to show me me that he could hold it all by himself too!
Jude doesn't sit in the bumbo long before he tries to escape!
Eli loves to play with the little girl I watch, Addison
We tried a new treat with Jude this week. He was so excited when I first gave it to him.
He wasn't too sure about the texture when he put it in his mouth the first time. I have given it to him a few more times and he seems to like it more each time I give it to him.
I was playing cars in the kitchen with Eli and needed to sit Jude down. He is still too wobbly to sit on the hard kitchen floor so I found a safe place for him to sit. He actually thought it was pretty funny.
He wasn't to sure about it when Eli started to put the cars away!
Jude all ready for the Purdue game
Eli gets so excited to watch basketball on TV. Lately he has been yelling "Go Hummel", even when it isn't Purdue playing
I watched a 2 year old and a 4 year old this week and Eli had a blast with his new friends! It is so much fun to see him be so social!
We pulled this little toy out of the closet and all of a sudden it is the coolest thing
He loves to dunk the ball now
He is such a sweetie!

I have been wanting to make my blog more personal for a little while now but wasn't really sure how to do it. I played around with some pictures and made a new header that I am so so so pleased with! It is also the new background of my computer. I just want to stare at it all day!

I love my family!
