Oh How We Love Blankie!

Eli absolutely loves his blankies. He has his teddy bear blankie and 4 taggie blankies. He usually has to have 1 taggie and his teddy bear blankie, but some days he needs all of his blankies. He can be playing with a toy and see his blankie out of the corner of his eye and he has to go and snuggle with it. It is pretty sweet. Today he threw his blankie into the empty block tub and decided to climb in after it :-) What a silly boy!

I just love him so much!

14 Months

I can't believe my little boy is 14 months old already. The time is just flying by. He is learning new things each day. Mostly new things he can climb on. He is also really trying to repeat words we say. He can make the 'p' sound for any words that start with P. He makes the 'sh' sound for fish. It is really great to see him try these new things.

14 months!

Still climbing!

Oops, somebody is stuck!

It seems like forever since my last post on here. Not too much has been going on. We have been watching a lot of basketball on TV. Mike has also been working on his big Masters project so he has been very busy and monopolizing the computer in the evenings. I have also been busy reading. I swore I wasn't going to get into the Twilight craziness. I thought it all seemed silly. All 3 of my sisters have the books. Katie and Tracy have finished all 4 of them and Jackie is currently on book # 3. Katie let me borrow her 1st book a few months ago. I just kept putting it off because I didn't think I would like it. I started it last Wednesday in the evening and was finished with it last Friday. I couldn't put it down. Last Saturday I got together with my sisters and Tracy let me borrow her 2nd, 3rd and 4th books. I started the 2nd book last Sunday and finished the 4th one yesterday. I couldn't put them down. Needless to say my housework has suffered this past week. :-)

On a more exciting note we have our big ultrasound on April 9th! That is only 1 1/2 weeks away. Since we are finding out so closed to Easter we have decided not share the news until Easter. I can't wait!

My Little Climber

I just wanted to show you what Eli has been up to lately. :-)

I am constantly pulling Eli out of the toy buckets and crates and it just devastates him to tears. When he first started climbing I would say "Eli we don't climb" in a tone so he would know that I wasn't playing. Well it didn't take him too long before he turned around to me with a big smile on his face and said "Don't"! And now anytime we use a stern voice, mostly when talking to the dogs, Eli turns and says don't. I know it isn't a great word to teach a baby, but it is just too cute!

Eli is actually saying more and more words everyday. For a few weeks now we have been working on dog and ball and now he constantly says dog. One of Eli's favorite things to do his to go outside and look for ducks and whenever we see one he says duck. Duck and dog sound similar but I can tell what he is saying :-) He can also quack like a duck. He meows and barks but they sound very very similar. I do have a favorite word that Eli says. Eli loves to take the dogs outside with me. Whenever I ask the dogs if they want to go outside Eli gets so excited. One day when I asked Eli if he wanted to go outside with the dogs Eli ran to me and when I picked him up he said "outside". I couldn't believe it. Here I am trying to get him to say dog and duck and he says outside. It is so cute. I am trying to get it on video but he says it too quiet. :-)

Weekend of Parties!

This past weekend was a very busy one, but we had so much fun. Friday was a beautiful day so when the kids got picked up at 5:00 I decided to take Eli for a walk. It was the first time we have been able to get outside because of the weather. Eli loved the walk. He just sat in his stroller and looked around. Our walk lasted about an hour. We were going to stop at the park in our neighborhood but it was packed and all the baby swings were taken. I am sure we will have plenty of chances to go to the park this spring and summer!

Saturday started the weekend of parties. First we got to celebrate our nephew Isaac's 5th birthday. I can't believe he is 5 already, that just sounds so big. Isaac's party had a Hulk theme and everyone dressed in green. Eli was sporting his Larry Bird jersey. The party was at a very cool pizza place. Mike really liked it. The entire place was covered with sports memorabilia. Tons of autographed basketballs and posters and lots of Larry Bird stuff. It was very neat. Isaac had fun at his party, but he gets shy around a lot of people. He got really shy when everyone started singing Happy Birthday to him. It was very sweet.

After we left Isaac's Party we had to head to another party for our neice Madeleine's 2nd birthday. Since it was a gorgeous day they decided to have it at a park. Eli loved being outside and just wanted to walk around. This was the first time he has ever walked outside. I spent most of the party holding his hands and letting him walk around. It was so much fun. We did get a little break for cake and ice cream. Eli loved it! Madeleine loved her cake too. I think she had been waiting all day to eat her cake. She snuck a little taste of the icing while we were taking pictures. What a sweet little girl she is!

After we got home from the parties on Saturday we decided to take the dogs for a walk. They absolutely love to go for walks and unfortunately they don't get to go very often. I can't take Eli and the dogs so if it is just me going I am going to take Eli. But since we were all going Reggie and Maggie got to go too. Mike pushed Eli in the stroller and I walked Reggie and Maggie. I am hoping that we get to do this more and more now that they weather is getting nicer.

Sunday morning we got up and went to church. We always go to 9:00 mass and it is usually packed but this time it wasn't at all. I am guessing that people just got confused by the time change. Sunday afternoon we went to celebrate Maya's 3rd birthday. It was quite the event. My side of the family is a decent size and Maya's daddy's family is very big and when you add in their friends you get a very big party. Maya had a blast. It was fun watching her open presents. She got so excited about each one. After we got home last night my sister Katie called and put Maya on the phone. She said "thank you for my Foofa jammies, I am wearing them right now!" She was so excited and told her mommy she had to call and say thanks! She is so smart for only being 3 years old.

Fun Toy!

Eli got this little giraffe toy for his birthday from one of my best friends Irene. It is a really neat toy. The body of the giraffe is a guitar, the legs are rattles and the head is a whistle. Eli loves this toy. He has always liked to play with the guitar and the rattles but he would always bring me the head so I could make it whistle. I have been working with him on blowing in it to make it whistle but he would just put his mouth on it and do nothing. Today he was sitting on the floor playing with it and he finally made it whistle! He turned and looked at me with the biggest smile on his face. I could just tell that he so proud of himself. For the next half hour he walked around makin it whistle. It was too cute. Thanks Irene and Darren for such a cool toy!

13 Months and 13 Weeks

So today I am technically 14 weeks pregnant, but I meant to post this last week :-)
Last Wednesday I reached the 13 week mark in my pregnancy and this past weekend Eli turned 13 months. Since he was born on the 30th and February doesn't have a 30th we just have to pick a day I guess.

13 Months!!

My little 13 month old is a busy busy boy. He has learned that he can climb. He has started climbing on top of toy tubs so I thought I would be smart and just take the lids off. Well Eli thought that was fine and just climbs into the tubs. He then gets stuck and gets mad. He definately keeps me on my toes!

Just sitting in his book crate!

Climbing out of the toy crate!

A few weeks ago I took Eli to the Dr to get his 1 year shots. While we were there I had the Nurse check his weight and yay he is finally 20 lbs. This means he now gets to face forward in his carseat. He absolutley loves it. I was a little worried about switching his carseat because he still slept so well in his old carseat, but it all worked out. We went up to Fowler this past weekend for my mom's birthday and Eli slept for a little over an hour on the way!

He loves it!

Just a funny story to add: Eli hasn't been feeling well lately(that isn't the funny part). He had a fever of 102 last Thursday and a low grade fever off and on since then. He is very whiney (especially in the evening) and wants me to hold him all the time. The past 4 nights have been rough. He goes to bed around 8 and is back up by 10 screaming. It takes me about 20 to 30 minutes to calm him down and get him back to bed and then the rest of the night he is very restless. So yesterday I got him an appointment at the Dr. (this is the funny part). I just had Eli and one other kid I was watching(Kennedy) I talked to her dad and he said it was ok to just take her. I had her in the stroller and I was carrying Eli. I was a little worried about getting them both in there but thought once I got into the Dr office it would be fine. I had no trouble getting them in there. We get into the waiting room and a nurse walks in and Kennedy starts screaming. Apparently she has a fear of the Dr office. I have never heard her scream like that. She screamed the entire time. The Dr or nurse never touched her but she kept up the screaming until we left. They sure got us in and out of there quick! I will not be doing that again!
