Isabel's Weight

I took Isabel to the Dr today for a weight check because at her 1 and 2 week checkups she had been losing weight. She was 8lbs 3oz at birth, 8lbs 2oz when we left the hospital, 7lbs 15oz at 1 week and 7lbs 9oz at 2 weeks. Her pediatrician wasn't concerned at all but said I could bring her in for a weight check if I wanted. Since I am a mommy and tend to worry I decided to do the weight check. At 3 weeks, 2 days she weighs 7lbs 15oz!!!! I am so glad is finally gaining weight! In the past few days I thought she was starting to gain a little. Wont be long until she is back to her birth weight! Here are just a few recent pictures!

Isabel Annette

Here is Isabel Annette's birth story.

I honestly expected this pregnancy to only last into the 37th week just like my pregnancies with the boys. So when the 37th week past by and I was still pregnant I was very surprised. I went to bed each night thinking "ok tomorrow could be the day". Each morning I would wake up a little disappointed that I hadn't gone into labor. There were a few mornings that I woke up with contractions coming around 6 minutes apart. I would time them to see if they got any closer and after a few hours they would just disappear. Those days I was very disappointed. When 4th of July rolled around and I was still pregnant I had given up all hope and was convinced that she was just going to stay put. :-)

On July 5th I woke up around 3:30 am to go the bathroom and when I did there was a little bit of blood. I was excited because I knew this was the start of labor! I was having very mild contractions at that point so I went ahead and called into the Dr because I had tested positive for group B Strep and knew that I needed to get 2 rounds of IV antibiotics before she was born. The dr I spoke to is my least favorite dr in my practice. I explained what was going on and she told me that is was probably just my mucous plug and that she would see me at my next appointment 2 days later, um ok. I knew this was the beginning of labor so I decided to try and get some sleep until the contractions got stronger and then I would call back.

I slept very little after that. The contraction were steadily coming every 6 minutes and by 6:00 am they were getting pretty strong. By 7 they were so strong it was hard to lay still in bed so I decided to head downstairs and move around to see if the contractions would get closer together. Almost immediately the contractions were coming every 4 minutes as I walked around. At 7:40 I called into the Dr again. While I was waiting for the Dr to call back I started to get everything ready to go. The boys woke up and I got them dressed and ready to go to grandma's. The dr finally called back at 8:30 and said to head on in. We dropped the boys off and headed to the hospital!

We arrived at the hospital at 9:15 and were put in a triage room. It seemed like it took forever for the nurse to come in. At this point the contractions were getting soooo strong. It may have been the pain but it seemed like the nurse was moving so slow at everything she did. When she finally checked me I was 6 cm. We got moved over to a labor and delivery room a little after 10:00. They got me hooked up to IV fluids and the antibiotics were started. At about 10:30 I got an epidural and once it was in it started working immediately! As the anesthesiologist was leaving the room my dr walked in. He said he wanted to check me to see how far along I was and that once I got the antibiotics he would break my water. Well the plan changed after he checked me because I was already 10cm!! So the Dr broke my water and got ready and it was time to push. It couldn't have been before 11:00 AM when I started pushing and at 11:16 am Isabel Annette was born!

We feel so blessed to have this sweet baby girl in our family! She is already loved so much.

Happy 4th of July!

We had a wonderful day today! We took the boys to a parade this morning and they had a blast. I wasn't sure how they would do because Eli really doesn't like loud noises and Jude isn't too sure about new things. Eli did cover his ears as the fire trucks went by and Jude didn't want me to put him down but they were both all smiles. Jude got more and more excited each time we would see a clown and the high light of the entire parade was seeing Boomer! Eli was so excited! Boomer was riding a bicycle and he stopped right in front of us and did a flip. The boys thought it was very cool!

Waiting for the Parade to start!

It's BOOMER!!!

After nap we took the boys outside and walked around down by the water. The boys always have fun doing this. There is a pretty steep hill from out yard down to the water and Jude is so funny to watch trying to walk on it. He has to have a death grip on someones hand and he takes the tiniest steps but he is smiling the entire time.

A fun recreation from last summer

Eli 31/2

Jude 22 months

It took me all day to get good smiles out of both boys but I finally succeeded tonight. It is so difficult to get a good picture of Eli smiling sometime.

Finally good smile :-)

Jude is getting so big

LOVE these boys!!!
