Happy Easter!

We had such a wonderful Easter today and I feel truly blessed to have such a wonderful family. We started off our Easter celebrations last night by coloring eggs with the boys. The boys had so much fun. We started kind of late so we had to finish them today. This morning the boys were very excited to see what the Easter Bunny brought for them, all though at first Eli thought that the Easter Bunny was going to be downstairs. The boys each got a coloring book, 2 books, a toy, sunglasses, a velcro baseball mitt, and of course some candy. They were excited about everything but hands down they were the most excited about the baseball mitts!! I think we will be playing a lot of baseball this summer!!!

We then were able to go church with Mike's family and then after Mass we headed over to his parents house for a nice brunch and Easter celebration for the kids. The boys had a blast with their cousins and they had so much fun going on an Easter egg hunt. Eli had no trouble finding the eggs on his own and Jude didn't mind Mommy helping him. After we got home the boys were able to finish their eggs and play with their new toys.

It looks like so much stuff but it really isn't that much.

I am so thankful for our families. They all made sure that our boys had a wonderful Easter even if we weren't able to be with everyone. It is so hard to not be able to see both sides of our families for each holiday and I hate that we have to miss out on somethings especially since both sides of our families are so giving to us. Luckily we have very understanding families. We love you all!!

Painting Fun!

The plan for tonight was to color some Easter pictures. I found some cute pictures online to print out for the boys to color but unfortunately our printer is currently out of ink. Eli was pretty disappointed so I had to come up with something else to do. I dug out a water color paint stuff from my old teaching supplies and the boys got to paint for the first time. As soon as I asked Eli if he wanted to paint he quickly forgot about being disappointed about not being able to color. Both boys loved it and we had so much fun painting together! This is definitely something we will be doing again very soon I am sure! :-)

Eli had a BLAST!!!

Jude loved it too!

Easter Bunny 2011

On Saturday I took the boys to the mall to see the Easter bunny. We have been talking about it for a few weeks and I showed the boys the picture from last year. Both boys were so so excited about it. While we were waiting in the very short line I had the boys sit down so I could take their pictures! They were all smiles and so excited about seeing the Easter Bunny...... at first. :-)
Excited to see the Easter Bunny

Somebody isn't as excited anymore

Eli and the Easter Bunny
Jude clung to my neck saying "mommy, hold you" over and over and over so I didn't even try to put him on the Easter Bunny's lap. He did let the bunny give him a sucker though and as we were walking away he said "Bye Bunny" with the biggest smile on his face. :-) Eli definitely had a blast getting to sit on the Easter Bunny's lap and Jude stills talks excitedly about the bunny so I still think it was a successful trip to see the Easter Bunny.

Straight and Curly

I have really been noticing lately how curly Jude's hair is. It is the most noticeable if he wakes up from nap sweaty. I always brush it down after his bath and when it dries it has a little curl to the end of it but nothing crazy. Tonight after bath instead of brushing it down I just ran my fingers through it to see how curly it really was. He has so many curls! I did the same thing to Eli's hair after bath and his hair is as straight as can be. It is so funny to see how different their hair is. :-) It makes me wonder what our baby girl will look like. Will she have super blonde hair with curls like Jude or will her hair be straight like Eli's. She could have dark blonde hair like Eli or she could have brown hair like her daddy. The possibilities are endless and I can't wait to find out! Here are some pictures of the boys.

Pictures :-)

Since I have neglected my blog lately (I have given up the internet while the boys are awake for lent) I decided to update with some pictures to show what we have been up too lately.

Eli's First Bike Ride

It was such a beautiful day outside today. The boys and I really enjoyed getting outside. This morning we went to both of the playgrounds in our neighborhood and then after nap we played out on our driveway. The boys had a blast playing basketball and the highlight of the day was watching Eli ride his tricycle all by himself for the first time!!! He has been able to pedal backwards since he got his bike for his 2nd birthday (over a year ago) but this was the first time he went forward all by himself. I am so proud of him and he was so excited about it!

Sick Boys

The boys had a bit of a rough time last week and weekend. I took then to the dr on Thursday for terrible coughs and fevers. They both had double ear infections and bronchitis. Their coughs were so scary and I am so glad they are doing better. We watched several movies while they were sick and had plenty of cuddle time.
