Baby Jude is 5 Months Old!!!

My baby boy is 5 months old today! I love him so much and I can tell that he loves me and his Daddy. His face just lights up when we talk to him and he has the biggest smile, which makes for some great pictures. He is really starting to move more. He never stays in one place when on the floor. If he is on his back he turns in circles and scoots a little, and when he is on his tummy he rolls over. He has some cute baby talk and he loves to blow bubbles with his mommy. He is also starting to show some signs of being ready for food. He isn't acting like he is hungrier, but he is really starting to notice our food. If I am holding him while I eat he watches each bite go into my mouth. I think I will still try to wait until he is 6 months old since we are going to skip cereal and go straight to food, unless he shows he needs it sooner.

I was trying to take a picture of him sitting in this chair but as soon as I would get the camera up he would slide down with a big smile!

I know I take a lot of pictures, but I just love these boys so much and I want to capture it all. I would love to scrapbook my pictures eventually, but that isn't in the budget just yet.

Jude Officially Rolled Over!!!

Jude has started to tolerate tummy time more lately. Before he would just put his face in the floor and cry. He wouldn't even try to hold his head up. Christmas day was really the first time he started lifting his head up a decent amount, and since then it has only gotten better. Tonight I laid him on his tummy and within 2 seconds he rolled right over. He had the biggest smile on his face! Of course I ran and got the camera but he wouldn't do it again, lil stinker! Jude's first unofficial roll from back to tummy happened at 6 1/2 weeks old but nothing since then. Eli was never a big roller. He rolled from tummy to back once at 5 1/2 months and then a couple more times a month later, but once he could sit he didnt care about rolling.
We are having some issues with Jude's eye. He has had tear duct issues since he was born, but that is very normal and his Dr said that should clear up by 6 months. We noticed it was even better for awhile. Now it is acting up again and since it is always watering it is getting irritated. I don't want to put anything on it since it is so close to his eye. I am hoping it will clear up on its onw soon, if not we will have to call the Dr. At least it doesn't seem to be bothering him.

Eli's Early Birthday Party!!

Since Eli's birthday is January 30th and we didn't think we would be able to make another trip back to Indiana so soon, we decided (with the help of my mom) to throw Eli a birthday party while we were home for Christmas. There was really no question of what theme to do, Nemo of course. My mom and sister Jackie found so many decorations for the party online! I also found the most adorable invitations online. The lady who made them also sent a 5x7 picture of Eli with the Nemo Characters! Eli received so many wonderful gifts, but he was much more interested in playing than opening gifts. I pretty much opened them by myself but I didnt mind. Seeing Eli playing with his cousins was my favorite part of the party! He had so much fun and I loved watching him. It just showed me how much he is growing up and it showed me that we are going to have to come back and visit more often! I want Eli to be close with all of his cousins! Be ready for lots and lots of pictures!!!!

Christmas in Indiana

The plan was to leave Saturday, the day after Christmas, by 6:00 AM to make it to Indiana by early afternoon to have Christmas with my mom and siblings. Unfortunately the weather was not on our side. We tried to leave around noon but only made it about 20 minutes before we decided it was to icey. Plan B, leave Sunday morning to make it to Christmas with my dad and siblings. We woke up to 4 more inches of snow and it was going straight towards Indy so we would be driving in it the entire way. We missed both of my family Christmases but we finally made it to Indiana Monday evening. Eli was so excited to see his grandparents since we had been talking about them for a few days. Our boys were clearly spoiled this year! :-)
On Tuesday we had Christmas with the Reger family. It was a wonderful celebration. Eli had so much fun checking out his presents and his cousins' presents.

We are incredibly blessed to have such a wonderful family. I love and miss each and everyone of them every single day. I don't know what I would do without them!
