Happy Halloween!!!

Happy Halloween to everyone!!! We had such a wonderful day! We decided we wanted Eli to be Brobee from Yo Gabba Gabbe because it is his absolute favorite show. Since Eli was going to be Brobee Jude got to be Muno from Yo Gabba Gabba. My mom made the most adorable outfits for them. She is amazing with a sewing machine!

Eli had a blast trick or treating. He didn't say anything to the people when they opened the door, but he gave them a smile as they held out the candy. Eli enjoyed picking up the candy and putting it in his pumpkin. Eli was a little disappointed when we were done, but it was a little chilly so we didn't want to stay out too long. We didn't end up putting Jude in his costume for trick or treating. We just bundled him up in his carseat and pushed him around in the stroller. I put Jude in his costume when we got home but he wasn't in the mood for pictures.

The boys each had a few Halloween outfits. I think Eli had 2 different shirts and Jude had 4. I purchased 1 for Eli because I didn't think he would have anything, the rest were either gifts or hand me downs from cousin. Gotta love the hand me downs. Here are some cute pictures of the boys this week in their Halloween gear!
I love my little family!!

Happy 21 Months Eli!!!

I can't believe in 3 months I will have a 2 year old! I think we may have already reached the terrible twos. I seem to hear the word no quite a bit throughout the day, but he can also be very sweet and give hugs and kisses. I love when he hugs me and pats my back. :-) He has also become very interested in looking at the pictures on the camera. Every time I get the camera out he comes running over to look at it. It makes it very difficult to get a good picture of him. I have to catch him off guard and hope for a smile!

He thought Jude wanted to play match with us!

Jude didn't mind
This is from a few days ago but I thought it was such a good picture of him!

I love you very much Elijah Kent!

Pumpkins!!!!

We have been working on our pumpkins this week. (With a very active toddler and a baby it takes more than one evening to carve pumpkins!) Eli is very excited about the pumpkins this year, although he thinks they should just be on the floor all the time so he can play with them and climb on them. We carved 2 pumpkins this year. Mike picked the Iowa Hawkeye for his pumpkin and I carved a 'nino' (dinosaur) in mine for Eli.
Eli wasn't too sure about the inside of the pumpkin at first

He finally touched it

Yay, pumpkins are fun!

Of course it is more fun to climb the pumpkins!

Pumpkin Patch

While my mom and Jackie were here visiting we were able to go to the pumpkin patch with the boys. Mike and I have been planning on taking the boys for a couple of weekends but something always came up. One weekend Eli had a fever and then the next weekend the weather was terrible. I am so glad that we were able to go this weekend! We had a blast. Eli loved running around and playing, Jude slept the entire time and of course I took tons of pictures!

Future Colt's Kicker!

My mom and Jackie are here visiting for the weekend and Eli is having a blast playing with them. They got to see him say "I Love You" in person, but we are still working on him saying Grandma. He has been able to say Jackie for quite awhile now. This video is of Eli playing with Grandma!

Eli's Hair Cut

Eli has been needing a hair cut for over a month now and it finally got to the point where we had to do something about it. The back was almost hanging over his shirt collar and the front would hang in his eyes unless we combed it over. We decided to try and cut it ourselves since his hair seems to grow so fast. Mike used scissors around his ears and clippers everywhere else. The clippers aren't the best and it ended up a little shorter than we had planned, but of course he still looks adorable.

Eli and Butta!!!

It has been 1 year since Eli fell in love with his blankie. It was very cold when we went to the pumpkin patch last year so I made sure to bring a blanket to wrap him in. I wanted a warm blanket but I also wanted it to match so I picked this teddy bear blanket we rarely used because it was brown and matched his outfit. When I picked that blanket I had no idea it would become his blankie that he would eventually call butta! Here are a few pictures of butta over the year.

I am glad he has his butta!

Eli's First Sentence!!!

We have been really trying to work with Eli on talking lately but we haven't been getting anywhere. We try to get him to say new words and he just says "Oh". I don't know what happened yesterday, I guess he just decided it was time to start talking. Eli has a sippy cup with dinosaurs on it, so he has called all of his sippy cups nino. Yesterday he brought me an empty cup and said muk (milk). I have been trying to get him to say milk for months now and out of the blue he said it. While watching his favorite show Yo Gabba Gabba he said Muno, Brobee and Toodee, 3 of the characters on the show. But the biggest surprise of the day was when he repeated a sentence. Eli said "I love you"! It was the sweetest thing and of course I shed a few tears over that one. I said I love you to Eli while pointing to my eye, my chest, and then pointing to him. I have been doing this for a while but he hasn't even tried to say the words or do the hand movements and all of sudden he did both.

It took me 2 days to get him to say it on video, but I think this video turned out perfect! Eli couldn't let you think he was all sweet so he had to add the little swats before he said I love you. I absolutely love that I got him saying I love you to Jude! It melts me heart! Please don't mind that he is half naked, we were getting ready for bed. Also I am sorry the house is a complete mess. As you can see we had a very busy afternoon of playing!

I hope they are always close!

Jude is 2 Months Old!

Today Jude is 2 months old!!! He is growing up so fast. He has changed so much in the past 2 months. He likes to lay on his back on the floor and look around, especially right after he eats. He is constantly kicking his legs and moving his little body around. He has still only rolled over once, but I can definately see how he did it. He usually sleeps 7 hours at night and then eats and goes right back to sleep for another 2-3 hours. Unfortunately I can't get him to sleep until 11 or 12 each night. We are working on this.
Jude had his 2 month check up today. He is quite the healthy boy! He now weighs 13 lbs, 5 oz and is 23 1/2 inches long! I could tell he was growing because his 0-3 month footie jammies are getting short on him. He also got 3 shots today. Shots are terrible! For babies and for mommies! Jude did not like the shots at all :( He fell asleep on the way home from the Dr office. He slept right through his next meal and then 2 hours more. When he woke up he was screaming. I gave him some tylenol and tried to feed him but he just fell back asleep. Poor baby was worn out. He did finally perk up in the evening and of course was up til midnight.
