The Price is Right!

I have the best husband!  He surprised me with tickets to The Price is Right Live traveling show tonight!  AWESOME!  I have LOVED The Price is Right forever and I always talk about wanting to go sometime but I had no idea they had a live traveling show!  It was such a fun fun night!  They played the same games as the real show and it was so excited cheering for the people playing the games.  We saw Cliffhanger, Punch a Bunch, Plinko, Piggy Bank, the big wheel, and a show case show down!  A girl won a trip to Vegas on the Piggy Bank game and the whole crowd was cheering!  The showcase show down was a little different.  Both contestants were bidding on the same prize.  A tv, a trip, and a car.  Whoever was the closest without going over won the tv and the trip but to get the car you had to be within $100 from the actual price.  They both ended up over bidding but it was still so exciting!  The entire night was just a dream come true!  I cannot believe I got to see The Price is Right!  Such a blast!

He had planned on completely surprising me and not telling me anything until it was time to leave but Isabel slipped on the kitchen floor on Sunday night and hurt her leg so he figured he better tell me something to make sure that I was ok with leaving her.  He didn't tell me where we were going but that he had a surprise for me and his mom would be coming over to watch the kids.  Isabel still wasn't walking on her hurt leg but it didn't seem to be bothering her so I knew she would be ok with her grandma for the night.

I had no clue where we were going.  I was so clueless that I didn't even get it when we saw a sign that said Free Parking The Price is Right.  Since I didn't know there was a traveling show I thought the sign was just saying that free parking was a great price and couldn't be beat.  Silly me. :-)  Once he clued me in that we were going to The Price is Right I was immediately excited!

Isabel's Broken Leg :-(

 We have our very first broken bone in the family and it comes in the littlest form.  Our crazy little climber slipped on Sunday and has a fracture in her lower right leg from walking.  Not climbing something she shouldn't be climbing but just walking on the kitchen floor and slipping on a piece of clothing while I was folding laundry. 
She fell around 5:00 Sunday evening and I knew immediately that she was hurt because of the way she was crying and holding onto me for dear life.  The way she fell forward and caught herself I was thinking she had hurt her arms so while I was holding her I was trying to move her arms around to see where it hurt.  It wasn't until I tried to stand her up to get a better look at her that I realized that it wasn't her arms but her legs.  I got her calmed down but she still wouldn't put any weight on her legs.  Mike was gone to the Colts game with his dad so I got a hold of him when I knew they would be on their way home.  We decided to wait a bit to see if it got any better.  We did dinner and bath and as I got her dressed she was miserable and really squirmed every time I touched her leg.  So at 7:00 Isabel and I headed to the ER.
They got us right in and checked her out.  The nurse tried to get her to stand and boy did she cry.  They got her some motrin and tylenol for the pain and then took us back for some X-Rays.  They took X-Rays of both her legs from her feet to her hips because at that point I wasn't for sure where the injury was.  I am glad I was able to be in there with her because she was very upset, poor baby was just so scared.  The X-Rays came back clear so they sent us home with instructions to see the pediatrician the next day.
Isabel was pretty miserable Monday.  She wouldn't put weight on her leg at all and just wanted to be held.  I could tell exactly when the motrin was wearing off.  In the afternoon we headed to see our pediatrician and she said just to watch her over the next few days and if she wasn't getting any better then she would need to be seen again. 
As the week went on she seemed to be getting better.  She wasn't in as much pain and really started to move around.  She crawled everywhere and would even pull up to standing but she never would put any weight on her lower right leg.  So today we headed back to the pediatrician to get rechecked.  As soon as they saw that she wouldn't even try to stand up on her leg they sent us on to and orthopedic specialist.   He checked her out and said he suspected that she had a fracture in her lower leg or in the bone in her foot that connects to her big toe.  He said we could do more X-Rays or a bone scan but their was still a chance that it might not show up so he suggested skipping that step and going ahead with a cast to be sure.  He said she was clearly in pain and this would protect it while it healed.  She was such a good girl while she got her cast on,  She didn't cry at all, she just watched the nurse put it on.  I think it helped that she was able to sit on her mommy's lap while they did it.  We will see how she does in 3 weeks when they have to cut it off of her.  So far the cast doesn't seem to be bothering her.  She hasn't tried walking on it yet but I bet she will be walking around with it in no time!  Of course we picked pink and she is rocking it!

Isabel at 15 Months

  My sweet baby girl is 15 months old today!  I can't believe how big she is getting, and she is literally getting big!  She has had such a growth spurt in the last 3 months.  Luckily the seasons are changing and it is getting cooler because she has outgrown all her 12 months clothes and fits nicely in 18 month clothes.  It is nice being able to dig through a few buckets of hand me downs that my sisters have given us.
Isabel is quite the adventurous little girl.  She likes to climb anything and everything and I can't turn my back for a second without her getting in to trouble. :-)  We use some chairs to block off the kitchen during the day to keep the little kids out of the bathroom and the dog bowls, well now Isabel has figured out how to use the back of the chair to climb on the couch.  She then climbs on the arm of the couch to try to get to the kitchen.  My heart stopped on day as I walked in the living room from cleaning up the toy room to her sitting on the arm of the couch. 
Isabel only has 4 teeth still.  She has huge bumps where her molars are coming in but I think those will still be a little while and we are still waiting on the other 4 front teeth.  She also has very few words.  She will say momma and dada but those are her only clear words.  She is definitely trying to say words and there are a few words that I think she is saying but they aren't very clear.  She tries to say fish for her stuffed Nemo that she LOVES.  She also tries to say taggie, her other love! :-)  I am not worried at all with her lack of speech, I don't think it will be long at all before she is talking our ears off.

2 Boys, 1 Bedroom :-)

We have been wanting to get Jude out of his crib and into a big boy bed for a little while now but we had some decisions to make before we could do so.  We had Eli in a toddler bed, another toddler bed we could use and a full size bed we could use.  Eli was getting kind of long for his toddler bed so I was really wanting to get him into a bigger bed but a full size bed just seemed so big for him.  Plus the boys have been talking about wanting to share a room.  We ended up with the perfect solution.  Mom and Dad R had a set of twin beds in their guest room and were considering trading them in for a full size bed so we switched them!  Now we have 2 twin beds for our 2 big boys!  Eli's room is the bigger room so we got all their stuff into the green room!  We went to walmart to get some sheets and I had planned on getting red because both of their blankets my mom had made them had red in them but when they saw all the color choices Jude asked for orange so I said why not!  And then Eli picked out green of course! :-)  They were so excited to get their beds put together and the room all done!

Muffins with Mom

 Today was a very special day for me!  I got to take Eli to school and stay for special Muffins with Mom!  It was such a wonderful time!  I got to see him in his classroom and with his friends, of course he was super quiet.  He showed me a few different things they have been working on and he was very proud of all his work.  We had muffins that the students had helped make and we also had some juice.  I am really glad that I was able to do this with Eli.  I really wish that I could take and pick Eli up from school each day but that just isn't possible right now but I want to make sure that I am able to be a part of his preschool experience.   I am so proud of my big guy!

10 Years Later

This weekend I was able to go to my 10 year high school reunion.  I hadn't planned on going but once I heard a few of my close friends were all going I couldn't pass up the chance to hang out with my girls all together!  We went out to dinner before hand and it was so much fun to catch up.  I still see these girls but not as much as I would like.  Our friend Michelle was visiting from Arizona so it had been about 4 years since I had seen her.  After dinner we headed over to the reunion.  It was a very fun night.  I hadn't seen most of the people since we graduated.

Eli's First Day of Preschool!

Today was Eli's first day of preschool and boy was he excited!  He has been looking forward to this day for quite a few months and he woke up ready to go!  I was a little more apprehensive about it.  I knew he would do great but I wasn't sure how I would do without him.  He has never been away from me unless he was with family so this was very new for us.

I took the day off so that I could take him and pick him up for his first day.  There is no way I could miss out on this HUGE milestone.  Eli got up at 7:00 and was ready to go.  He usually likes to lounge around for a little while before he has breakfast and gets dressed but this morning he got dressed right away and then asked for breakfast.  After he finished his breakfast he got his shoes and backpack on and said he was ready to go, but we still had an hour before we needed to go.  That gave me lots of time for some pictures!

I took the day off from babysitting so that I could take Eli to his first day.  Mike's mom came over to stay with Jude and Isabel so that Mike and I could have some special time with Eli.  He was jumping up and down when we got there he was so excited.  We went down to his classroom, he hung up his backpack, took a picture with his teacher, gave us quick hugs, and then went into his classroom.  I can't deny there were a few tears but I am just so proud of him and I can't believe my baby boy is big enough to go to school.

We were all excited to go get him!  Jude was excited that he got to go this time!  As his teacher brought him out to us she said he had a great day and that he got to be the teacher's helper today.  He told us that meant that he got to hold the flag!  He was beaming from ear to ear as he told us about his day!  He said they got to paint a picture of Chicka Chicka Boom Boom, they played outside, they had popsicles, and it was lots and lots of fun!  He said it was the best day ever and I couldn't be happier for him!  I know he is going to do great!
